Aston Martin Creates Three Bespoke DB12 S Coupes Inspired by Historic DB2 Racers
Aston Martin is bringing its racing heritage to the 2026 Monterey Car Week with a special trio of Q by Aston Martin DB12 S Coupes. Created to celebrate the 75th Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the three bespoke cars take inspiration from Aston Martin’s historic DB2 racing machines from the early 1950s.
Three DB12 S Models Inspired by Historic DB2 Racers
The special collection consists of three individually styled cars known as VMF 63, VMF 64 and VMF 65. Their names reference the registration letters used by three Aston Martin DB2 race cars that competed during the early 1950s.
Each modern interpretation receives its own signature colour theme. VMF 63 features Rosso Red accents, VMF 64 uses Speed Yellow detailing, while VMF 65 is highlighted with Ellwood Blue.
Exclusive Exterior Details
All three DB12 S models are finished in Carbon Black, with bespoke details developed by Q by Aston Martin. Painted grille elements, 75th-anniversary fender roundels and painted carbon-fibre side strakes give the cars their distinctive appearance.
The exterior treatment is completed by a painted carbon-fibre Aeroblade and a DB2-inspired foil overlay at the rear, linking the modern DB12 S directly with Aston Martin’s competition heritage.
Motorsport-Inspired Interior
The racing-inspired theme continues inside the cabin. Each car features colour-coordinated stitching, Aston Martin wing embroidery and subtle DB2 silhouette details on the front seats.
Additional bespoke touches include 75th-anniversary graphics on the rear seatbacks, painted start/stop controls, matching paddle-shifter tips and unique sill plaques referencing the DB2 inspiration.
Aston Martin at Monterey Car Week
The three DB12 S VMF cars form part of a wider Aston Martin presence at Monterey Car Week. The company will also appear at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, where collectors, enthusiasts and designers will gather to celebrate some of the world’s most significant performance and collector cars.
Aston Martin will also host Astons On The Avenue on Ocean Avenue in Carmel-by-the-Sea, bringing together historic and modern Aston Martin models while supporting the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.
House of Aston Martin
The brand’s House of Aston Martin will once again provide an exclusive setting for invited guests during the Monterey weekend. Visitors will be able to see several of the company’s latest models, including the Valhalla, DB12 S, Vantage S and DBX S.
A historic DB2 will also be displayed, reinforcing the connection between Aston Martin’s early racing cars and the modern DB12 S VMF collection.
Vanquish 25 Special Edition
Another highlight at the House of Aston Martin will be the Vanquish 25 Special Edition. Developed by Q by Aston Martin, the limited-production model celebrates 25 years since the original V12 Vanquish made its debut.
The special edition combines design references from the original Vanquish with modern handcrafted detailing, creating a contemporary tribute to one of Aston Martin’s most recognisable V12 models.
A Tribute to Aston Martin’s Racing Roots
The three DB12 S VMF models demonstrate how Aston Martin is using its bespoke Q service to connect contemporary performance cars with significant moments from its racing history.
Inspired by the three DB2 competition cars from 1951, the collection provides a fitting tribute to the sporting heritage being celebrated during the 75th Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
With historic racers, modern performance models and exclusive Q by Aston Martin creations appearing across Monterey Car Week, Aston Martin is using the event to celebrate its past while showcasing the direction of its future.
